Maynard Molskness, 90, died on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at Our Saviour's Free Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Terry Olson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Monday evening and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Maynard Molskness was born August 26, 1912 in Hillsboro, North Dakota to the late John and Sina (Kaldor) Molskness. He was baptized and attended school in Hillsboro. He stayed home and farmed with his parents until he was 20 years old. He then worked out as a hired farm hand. On August 10, 1935 he was united in marriage to Madeline Boutain of Red Lake Falls, MN. The couple lived in Solway, MN and farmed a 40 acre place and logged. In 1940 they moved to the Thief River Falls area and he was employed at Wiener Motors as a body man. In 1943 the couple bought a farm in Sanders Township, Pennington County. He later bought a shop at Solway for a while, until returning to his farm in Sanders Township. Madeline died in 1959 in a car accident in Santa Rosa, NM. Madeline was the mother of all of his children.

Maynard married Leonette (Jenkauski) Anderson in November of 1959 in Thief River Falls, MN. She died on May 21, 1987. On December 15, 1992 he married Irene Lysne in Thief River Falls and the couple continued to reside in Thief River Falls.

Maynard enjoyed reading his Bible every day and loved going for rides in the country. He also loved to play guitar and having coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Thief River Falls, MN; his children: Leslie Molskness and his wife Marg of Florida, Peggy Mostad of Bemidji, MN, Larry Molskness and his wife Sharyn of Missouri, Muriel (Fred) Craig of Eden Prairie, MN and Tom Molskness and his wife Barbara of Thief River Falls, MN; step children: Forrest (Sandy) Anderson of Ohio, Faye (Steve) Dudas of Washington, Donvan (Edie) Anderson of California, Sherman Lysne of Kansas and Carolyn Jablinske of Thief River Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; sisters: Signe Jorgenson and Dagny Irvin, both of Thief River Falls, MN; brothers: Raymond (Arlene) Molskness and Gerhard Molskness, both of Thief River Falls, MN and Bernard (Ora) Molskness of Tacoma, WA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives Madeline and Leonette; his parents; two sisters: Mugda Russum and Amanda Hinden; and two brothers: Henry Molskness and Clarence Molskness.
