Raymond Molskness passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Steve Anderson Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Raymond Clifford Molskness, the son of John and Sina (Kaldor) Molskness, was born March 25, 1923 in Black River Township, Pennington County, where he was raised. He attended the Black River country school #99 through the eighth grade. He then remained in the area and worked for local farmers.

He entered the US Army on January 5, 1949, served in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in November of 1951. He returned to Thief River Falls, where he worked at Land O’Lakes, Shetler’s Hatchery and Feed Mill, Hartz Wholesale, and later back to Land O’Lakes at the Turkey processing plant until retiring in 1985.

On December 12, 1959 he was united in marriage to Arlene Hagen at the Assembly of God Church in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple made their home west of Thief River Falls where he resided until entering the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine on June 1, 2018.

Raymond enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature, his four legged friend CoCo, and raising small grains on his hobby farm. He was an avid reader of western novels and had an extensive collection of miniature cars and tractors. He also enjoyed the morning coffee crew at McDonalds. Raymond was a practical joker with a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Arlene; children Carol (Dale) and Connie (Mike); grandchildren Nicole, Jaclyn (Blake), Jered, Kayla and McKenzie; great-granddaughter Thea Rae; brother Gerhard, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Magda Russum, Signe Jorgenson, Amanda Hinden, Henry Molskness, Bernard Molskness, Maynard Molskness, Dagny Irvin, and Clarence Molskness.
