Samuel L. Wartzenluft, 71, of 661 N. Hull St., Sinking Spring, died yesterday afternoon in Community General Hospital.

Born in Maxatawny Township, a son of Joel and Elizabeth (Hilbert) Wartzenluft, he was a retired contractor.

He was a member of Bern Lutheran Church, Leesport R.D. 1, and of the Sinking Spring and Mount Pleasant fire companies.

Surviving are his widow, Edna (Balthaser) Wartzenluft, and a daughter, Ferne, wife of E. Dewey Tice, Sinking Spring; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four brothers: Daniel and Paul, both of Kutztown, James of Fredericksburg and Harry of Robesonia R.D. 1; also five sisters: Katie, wife of Aran Spohn; Lalia, wife of Lawrence Keim; Luma, wife of James Rahn, and Verna, wife of Paul Oswald, all of Kutztown, and Mamie, widow of Clarence Hohl, Wernersville.

Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville, with the Rev. Walton Horn officiating.

Burial will be made in the Sinking Spring Cemetery.
