Mrs. Allie J. Oliver, age 94, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her home. Funeral service 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Fairview Baptist Church with private graveside service to follow. Mrs. Oliver was born June 17, 1914 in Chesterfield County, S.C. a daughter of the late Tom Joplin and Annie Norton Joplin Steen. She was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church with over 33 years of perfect attendance. Mrs. Oliver was married to the late Walter Oliver and was preceded in death by her daughter Verdie Lear, step-daughter Frances Willmon, step-father Jim Steen, brothers: Will, Rufus, Coyt, and Russell Joplin, step-brother L.T. Steen, sister Etta Pittman, step-grandson Mickey Watson.
