William McCall was born June 25, 1861 in Chase County Co. KS and was the son of Samuel McCall and Elizabeth Stotts McCall. When he was four years old the family moved to Sidney Iowa and four years later moved to Worth County MO. Mr. McCall came to Norton County in March 1886 and homesteaded on land south of Calvert, where he lived the rest of his life. He married Laura Ann Bright on May 5, 1887. Their children were: Fred McCall; Harvey McCall; Lizzie Roberts; Anna Roberts; Hulda Zellmer; Sam McCall; Mildred Cole and Ruby Johnson.
