Chico Enterprise-Record, Monday, August 12, 1985: "Nancy Cole. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hall-Van Hook Funeral Chapel for Nancy Cole, 82, of Chico. She died Saturday at a local hospital. Mrs. Cole was born Jan. 13, 1903, in Modoc County to Joseph and Susan Bradford. At a young age, her family moved to Dayton where she was reared and attended school. In 1922, she married Lesley Cole and they moved to Loma Rica. The couple moved to Durham in 1925 where Mrs. Cole resided until her death. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers. She is survived by two sons, Norman and Floyd Cole, both of Chico; three daughters, Susan Robley of Durham, Leona Ellen of Dayton and Ella Fuller of Grants Pass, Ore.; two sisters, Esther Briggs of Sacramento and Viola Mathern of Chico; a brother, Ernest Bradford of Arizona; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Another son, Willis Cole, died during World War II. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday with interment at the Dayton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fund for Justin, the Durham-Dayton Cemetery Association or a favorite charity in care of Hall-Van Hook Funeral Chapel."
