Chico, May 4. – Elmer Bradford, 14, of Dayton, is in a Chico hospital in a serious condition as the result of an accident yesterday during which the boy was run over by an automobile driven by Marion McDaniel, also of Dayton. The boy’s skull is fractured. He may die.

Chico Daily Enterprise, Wednesday evening, May 11, 1927: "Funeral Held For Bradford Boy. Funeral services for Elmer Bradford, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bradford of Dayton, who died following injuries received last Wednesday, when he was struck by an automobile driven by Marion McDaniels, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the chapel of the Bicknell & Moore funeral parlors, the Rev. J.T. Black of Durham officiating. Interment was made in the Dayton cemetery."
