Wickliffe Kincheloe enlisted as a Sergeant (Sgt.) in Company B, 8th Virginia Infantry Regiment, CSA, on May 17, 1861 in Rectortown, Fauquier County, VA. He died from wounds on September 22, 1862 at Fortress Monroe in Hampton, VA.

Wickliffe was a son of Brandt and Mary Kincheloe. He was one of seven children listed in the 1850 US Census.
