Anton Szabo, 86, of 1505 N. Brookfield St., died at 5 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired Oliver Corp. employee. He was born August 26, 1881, in Hungary, and had lived here most of his life. His wife, Anna, died in 1958. Surviving are his son, Anton T. Szabo of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Julia Tschida, of Salem, Oregon; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Anton married Anna (Farkas) Benko on March 08, 1910 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and then moved to South Bend, Indiana. He raised all of Anna's children (in the US) by her previous marriage to Janos Benko.
