born to Jose Bellisario Urbina and Felicidad Mayorga. She married Rosendo Brianes in 1926, and was his wife until his death in 1989. They lived for a time in New York City, where she learned to fly and became the first woman pilot from South America. She was one of the original group of Ninety-niners. A womens' flying club in the USA. Became friend of Amelia Earhart and Charles Linbergh. She returned to Ecuador in 1945, to work in the family business. She travelled the world over. Eventually, she moved to Toronto to be with her daughter Rosario; this is where she took up her love of boating and snowmobiling. In 2000 she was recognized by the Ecuadorian Press as one of the 10 most influential women of the millenium.
