"Aunt Peggie" was a much beloved member of the extended Cole family of Giles County, TN. She and her husband Tom Lawrence had no children themselves, but she helped care for many Cole children, most especially her nephew Lewis Houston Cole. She became a surrogate mother to him after his mother (and her sister) died during childbirth.

Her birthdate stated on the memorial is from a family bible vs. what's on the death certificate, which contains other dubious information for her.

Contrary to what her death records says about her parents being Geo Allen Cole and Alice, I am very confident that her parents were Thomas D. Cole and Hannah Davenport. The information on the death certificate was provided by husband Tom Lawrence, and he came to Giles County after Aunt Peggie's parents had died. He wouldn't have known them. There is absolutely no record of George and Alice Cole anywhere, and Thomas D. Cole did not have a brother. Aunt Peggie was definitely related to William F. Cole and Lewis Houston Cole, and Thomas and Hannah Cole are their common ancestors. She also was living with Hannah Cole in the 1850 census. I suspect Tom Lawrence may have gotten the George and Alice from the names of two children of William F. Cole who died young. I think when asked for her parents name for the death cert, those are the names he came up with.
