A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at the Masonic Memorial Gardens, 437 Stoker Ave, Reno.
Ruth was born on August 13, 1920, in Washington PA, the daughter of Otto and Clotilda Hundertmark. She was the youngest of 12 children. She moved to New York City as a young woman enjoying life to its fullest, settling in Reno in the 40's.
Ruth is survived by her brother, William Hundertmark of Wash- ington, PA; her five children, including Max (Fair) Ray of Kansas City, Mary (Merrill) Hayes of Ashland, OR, Joy Mintun of Reno, John Mintun of Reno, and Julie (David) Ruf of Carson City, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of Daughters of The Nile and the Evangelical Free Church where she willingly and joyfully helped where needed. She put her trust in Jesus Christ in the 1970's and demonstrated Christ's love to family and strangers alike.
She was an exceptional cook and homemaker. She especially loved taking care of her home and family. She was and avid reader and enjoyed the hardest of crossword puzzles. She had an exceptional mind and was always learning right up to her last days. She had a loving heart and deep intuition about people and human affairs. She never met a stranger and people were drawn to her from all walks of life. Her ethics, respect for people and love of the truth, lives on in her children.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity; Shriners Hospital for Children 1-800-241-4438 or www.shrinershospitals.org, in the name of Ruth Mintun. The Mount View Mortuary is handling the funeral arrangements
