Private Hunter Maxton, a blacksmith, from Uwchland, Pa. Enlisted at age 18 on Oct. 8, 1861, for 3 yrs.; in Company F, 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He died of congestive fever at Hilton Head, S. C, on Jan. 25, 1862.
