Private Jacob Kerr, a farmer from Rockville, Dauphin County Pa, enlisted at age 18 on Sept. 30, 1861 in Company F, 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged for disability on the 12th of October 1863 and died on the 27th, at Hilton Head, of chronic diarrhea.
