My G-Grandmother Rosana Smith Eagens known as "Rosie" was born to Irish parents Adam Smith and Mary McCatthon in Pennsylvania on 13 Nov 1864. Roseann had one living brother, Adam Smith (1853-1925), he never married.

Roseann and Samuel B. Eagens(1850-1890) were married on Dec. 17,1877 in Samuel's mother's Mary A. Eagens home in Bridgeport, Montgomery County, Pa.
Rosie and Samuel had four children, all born in Norristown: Albert (1882-), Ada May (1885-1951), Harry R. (1892-1964), Mayme (1897-1953).

By 1900 Rosie was listed as a widow in the census and living with a brother-in-law in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, with her children.

By 1920 she was living with her daughter Mayme in Cleveland, Ohio, where she lived the remainder of her life until her death on Feb. 17, 1942.

Her obit read:
Eagens, Rosa--1861 Noble rd.; beloved mother of Mrs. Mayme Rabe, Ada and Harry. Friends may call at the Flynn-Froelk Co. Funeral Home, 13104 Euclid ave. Funeral Saturday, Feb. 21, from Christ the King Church at 10 a. m.

Her wake was held at Flynn-Frelk Company Funeral Home located at 13104 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Her funeral was on Saturday February 21, 1942 at Christ the King Church also in Cleveland, Ohio. She is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Miles Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.
