My Great Grandmother Margaret Gilmartin was born January 24, 1861 in Airdrie, Lanark, Scotland to Michael Gilmartin (1836 -1901) and Mary Ann Griffin (1839-1910, both born in Ireland and emigrated to Scotland during the famine years about 1850 or even earlier.
Margaret was the oldest of seven children; Thomas, Patrick, John, Michael, Helen and Mary A.

Margaret married John Joseph Tague at Saint Margaret's Church in Airdrie on June 14, 1885.

Margaret Gilmartin had 7 children with her husband John Joseph Tague, 2 having died at birth or at a young age.
Thomas, Mary, Michael, Michael II, Mary, Anna, Hugh, John. There is another John Tague born January 1, 1889 shown at Saint Margaret's Church Register in Airdrie, Scotland as being the son of John and Margaret Gilmartin. The youngest son John born September 5, 1899 was killed in a sub of the coast of Whales in WWI.

Margaret died in Kearney, New Jersey in the United States while her and husband John were visiting a daughter and son in Dec. of 1929. Margaret was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, Hudson County, New Jersey.
Her husband John and son Hugh returned to their home in Airdrie, Scotland after her burial.
