Elizabeth was born in Haskell County on February 12, 1916, the daughter of Tom and Grace Stewart. She graduated from Haskell High School and from North Texas College in Denton, TX. She was devoted to teaching children.
Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Munday for 71 years. She enjoyed teaching the children in the Sunday School classes and was well known for her chalk talks.
Elizabeth married Everett Cecil Thompson on December 4, 1937. Throughout their fifty-five years of married life, they enjoyed attending football games, band contests, and all activities their children and grandchildren were involved in.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, bird watching, stamp collecting, and floating down the Frio River.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Thompson in 1992, parents and a brother, T.C. Stewart.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Beth Jackson and husband Mickey, Nancy Merrell and husband James. Four grandchildren Johnny Jackson, Scott Jackson, Debbie Mauling, and Holly Christensen, and eight great-grandchildren.
