Sweetwater, March 16 - Funeral services for Charles Fred Strobel, 79, were to be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Longworth Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Charles Pickens, officiating. Burial was to be in Longworth Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mr. Strobel would have been 80 years old next Tuesday. He died early Thursday morning in a Sweetwater hospital.
Mr. Strobel was born in Fayette County and was married to Mrs. Strobel 58 years ago. The family moved to Longworth community in 1907 and Mr. Strobel farmed there until his health failed.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Ed J. and W. J. of Longworth; two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Smauley of Longworth and Mrs. O. R. Weems of Sweetwater; two sisters, Mrs. Ross Frank and Mrs. Mary Winters, both of LaGrange; and one brother, Henry Strobel of LaGrange.
