Mrs. Strobel In Sweetwater

Sweetwater - Mrs. Charles F. Strobel, 86, longtime resident of this area, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday in Simmons Memorial Hospital here after a short illness.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Cate-Spencer Funeral Chapel and burial will be in the Longworth Cemetery north of Sweetwater.

Mrs. Strobel, the former Augusta Balko, was born in Fayette County, Texas on March 15, 1876 [sic] and was married there in 1893 [sic].

She and her late husband, C. F. Strobel moved north of Sweetwater in Fisher County in 1907. He was a farmer-stockman and died in 1951.

Survivors include two sons, Ed J. Strobel of Sweetwater and W. L. Strobel of Longworth; one daughter, Mrs. C. R. Smauley of Sweetwater; three brothers, Henry and August Balko of Houston and Alfred Balko of Baytown; three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Burgess of LaFeria, Mrs. H. F. Hurst of Wichita, Kan. and Mrs. Annie Schwenke of Houston; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
