Mrs. Eva Collins founder of St. Clara's Aid Society and chairty worker in Denver for 30 years, died yesterday at her home 3716 W. 27th Ave. She has been ill for two years.
Mrs. Collins was born in Germany 72 years ago and came to America with her parents when she was two years old. They settled in St. Louis.
CAME HERE IN 1882
In 1882 Mrs. Collins came to Denver with her husband, John L. Collins. She became interested in charity and founded the St. Clara society in 1908. The aid society gained representation in the Denver Community Chrst through efforts of Mrs. Collins.
Mr. Collins died in 1923 and she returned to St. Louis for three years than came back.
RITES AT 2 P.M. FRIDAY
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Florence Hart and Miss Eva R. Collins, both of Denver, and four sons John J., Lawrence and Joseph Collins, all of Denver and Henry H. Collins of Kitchener, Canada.
Father William Richardson is in charge of funeral services. A rosary will be receited at Horan's Chapel at 8PM. Requin mass will be sung at St. Clara's Orphanage Chapel at 9PM Sat. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
