Elder Elijah Webb was born in Raleigh, N.C. to John Webb and Elizabeth Huntley Falkner Webb. Elijah was the youngest of six children. He moved to Georgia and married Hannah Louisa Baker on August 14, 1839 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He joined the church by letter in 1842. He was ordained a Deacon on April 2, 1859 and subsequently ordained to the ministry on February 6, 1868. He served Hardeman Church for 27 years and 10 months. He gave the land for the new church and cemetery in 1873. Elijah and Eliza had other children not in the links below, they are: Jane M. Webb Clay buried at Webb Seavey Cemetery; Louise Emiline Webb buried at Webb Seavey Cemetery; Joseph E. Webb believed to be buried at Kennesaw Town Cemetery; and Jonathan Baty Webb buried at Webb Seavey.

Descendants that followed in his footsteps are as follows: William Doster Webb, son, served as the Preacher for six years. T.F. Webb, son, was a Deacon, Leonard Webb, grandson, Preacher. 3 grandsons were Deacons, & Benjamin Cook son-in-law, Deacon.
