Mrs. John Wilson Laid to Rest in Meadows Cemetery Last Week

Margaret Simpson was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, October 29, 1857, and passed away at her home near Meadows, August 28, 1940, at the advanced age of 89 years 10 months and 28 days. Early in life she moved to London and lived there until coming to America, landingat New York, she came as directly as possible to the part of Idaho and joined her friend John A. Wilson in wdlock with the hopes, hardships and fortunes of a rugged pioneer life. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were among the eary settlers of Meadows valley and met the trying conditions bravely. Of the six children born to them two were carried away by epidemic disease in early childhood. Enduring their losses they met discouraging conditions with an onward look while patiently but steadfastly improving their land, bringing irrigation water up on it and increasing its productive pwer. The four sons who survive, namely Henry, George and James of Meadows, and Edward of Chicago, having won useful places in life, Mr. Wilson, the father laid down the cares that beset him in 1932, but to Mrs Wilson there was given another eight years of life to enjoy her sons and the five grandchildren. Weary and worn she lay on her couch till the natural functions refused their part and her spirit was gently lifed away by the God who gave it. The loving hands of those who had known her so long placed the remains in Meadows Cemetery along side those of her Husband.

Funeral services were conducted from the home of James Wilson by Reverand Fred H. Johnson.
