She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Shobe; her sons, Stephen Shobe and wife, Dianne, of Middletown, Conn., and Michael Shobe of Santa Barbara, Calif.; her sisters, Isabelle Cabaniss, Fannie Simmons, Gladys Fulp and June Woodson, all of Chase City; her brother, Dennis Woodson of Chase City; numerous extended family members and friends.
Mrs. Shobe was born in Charlotte County, and lived in numerous locations around the world prior to relocating back to Chase City in 1991 upon her husband's retirement.
The family received friends at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home on Thursday evening, June 5, 2008, from 7pm to 8pm. Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at Woodland Cemetery in Chase City, VA.
