LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. GIBBS

Funeral sevices for Mrs. H.T. Gibbs Sr. a well known resident of Route 5 Moultrie, were held Wednesday at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church with Elder L. Wood, Elder Harvey Giddens, and Elder G. E. Barton officiating. Burial was at Sardis Cemetery.

Mrs. Gibbs died early Monday in Colquitt County Memorial Hospital follwing and illness of two weeks. She was 79 year old.
Pallbearers included Robert Henson, Stuart Henson, Mike Gibbs, Randy Gibbs, Tommy Gibbs, Dickie May, Donny Gibbs, Steve Gibbs, and Tommy May.

Mrs. Gibbs was born on Dec. 12, 1899 in Cook County, the daughter of the late Tom Flowers, and Jane Ingram Flowers.
She lived most of her life in Colquitt County. Active in church and communtiy affairs for many years, Mrs. Gibbs was a memeber of the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church.
Her husband, who preceded her in death, was member of the Culbertson School trustees and the board of directors of the Colquitt County Rural Electric Company.

Survivors include six sons, Tom Gibbs Jr., of Route 3 Moultrie, Dewey Gibbs of Route 5 Moultrie, Charles Gibbs of Route 1 Moultrie, Gene Gibbs of Adel, Darrell Gibbs of Dunwoody, Ga., and Jimmy Gibbs of Route 5, Moultrie; three daughter, Mrs. J.P. (Unita) Newsome of Casleton-Staten Island, N.Y., Mrs R.H. (Lucille) May of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Mrs. Wiley (Faye) Henson of Lexington, Ky., two sister, Mrs. Verta Martin of Moultrie, and Mrs. Esther Lee Green of St. Augustine, Fl.; 26 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
