John Pfoutz/Pfouts was Captain of the Pfoutz Valley Militia Company and did active duty with the Continental Establishment (Pfautz-Fouts-Foutz Newsletter, No. 7, July 1982).

In 1773 John Pfouts married Mary Ann Crane, who is burried in the same cemetery.
