Mrs. Elizabeth LaRose Garso, 79, who has resided with her daughter, Mrs. Louis (Julia) McDonald, Perkins Rd, Massena, for the past 12 years, died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 5:30 Sunday morning (Nov 27, 1955) where she had been a patient for two days.
Mrs. Garso was born in Ogdensburg Feb 16, 1876, a daughter of Paule and Odile Blair LaRose, and was married to John Garso, September 30, 1895, in Ogdensburg by the late Rev. P. O. LaRose. Her husband died 28 years ago.
Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. Louis McDonald, Massena and Mrs Arthur Rivers, Ogdensburg; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Lego and Mrs. Joseph (Julia) Bouchard, both of Ogdensburg; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Mrs Francis (Odile) Rishe.
She was a member of Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg and of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Joseph's Church in Massena. Following a funeral service at Notre Dame here she was buried in the parish cemetery.
NOTE: In a court case over the death of her husband, she was awarded $200 for burial and $10.38 per month pension.
