"Walker our Beloved Friend and Companion"
October 29, 1995 to April 12, 2008

Walker was 13 years and 5 months young. Yes, young. Even though parts of him were old and slowing down he was still young at heart. Still game to chase a toy and play tug when he could see where we threw it. Still ready to insist that he follow my husband anywhere at anytime. Some days it was so hard for him to get up and down stairs, most days he took long naps & watch Maggie try to get him to play...and some days he did play with her, but he still wanted to please us with all that he was. Even at the end, Walker was charming all those who met him and wagged his long tail in love when he heard my husband's voice or heard a friendly face. He met every new experience with a smile, ears forward and tail aloft (oh that tail it knocked over plently of nick nacks or photos!). He was foremost among the elbow nudgers, and just plain in your face until you pet him; he saw no point in a hand lying idle when it could be put to better use scratching an ear, head or better his rear end.

Time is cruel, but Walker's light heart carried him through the years cheerfully. His life was well lived. He blessed every life he came in contact with. How could we ask him to go on in pain?

We love you Walker and can't wait until we see you in Heaven! But until then, enjoy your time at the rainbow bridge... we love you buddy!
