Lela Griffin Floyd, 83, 213 Colony Drive died Tuesday, April 2, at Humana Hospital Lake Cumberland following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Estesburg on Dec. 5, 1901, daughter of the late Virgil and Samantha York Griffin.
She was a member of Somerset Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Dean A. Floyd, Estesburg, Carl Floyd, Madison, Ohio, and Windell Faxon Floyd, Bemidji, Minn.; three daughters, Doris Ann Decker, Somerset, Mildred Wilmott, Mt. Vernon, and Doretta Meece, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Jess Griffin, Eubank, Roy Griffin, Estesburg, and Mitchell Griffin Pulaski; three sisters, Bertha Suttle, Estesburg, Mattie Flynn, Somerset, and Maggie Reynolds, Covington; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was prededed in death on June 27 1964, by her husband, Walter Floyd, whom she married on March 27, 1921; two sons, Thomas and Walter Floyd Jr.; two brothers, Jim and Ansel Griffin; and a sister Nora Eubank.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, with Bro. Willie Ramsey officiating.
Burial was in Griffin Cemetery at Estesburg.
