MOUNTAIN TOP — Mary Jo Aigeldinger, 82, of Mountain Top, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on April 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George Jr. and Anna Belanchik Pollock. Mary Jo graduated from Fairview High School, in Mountain Top, and worked for Ladies Pennsylvania Slovak Catholic Union.

Mary Jo dedicated her life to raising her children. As family was important to her, Mary Jo appreciated all family gatherings, whether it was summer cookouts or holiday festivities. Mary Jo enjoyed her quiet times: reading, painting, and doing word search puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Francis C. Aigeldinger, Jr.; twin sister, Ann Marie Pollock; brother, George Pollock III.

Surviving is her loving family: Francis Aigeldinger III and his wife, Mary; Robert Aigeldinger and his wife, Dawn; Elizabeth Aigeldinger and her former husband, B.J. Womer; Jennifer Osiecki and her husband, Rob; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Snyder and her husband, Gene; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Geisinger Home Health for the years of caring for her, and to the staff at Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick, for their support at the end.

Donations to Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick are preferred, and will honor Mary Jo's memory.

To honor Mary Jo's wishes, no funeral services will be held. Arrangements are by the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.
