Elizabeth was born Aug. 24, 1909, to Robert and Betty Robbins Hicks, in Jonah, Texas. She married Elmer Johnson in 1928. They moved to Dallas with their daughter, Betty Ann, in 1936. Elizabeth married Burl Roper in 1944. Elizabeth worked for Neiman Marcus for 18 years and later owned Picture Talk framing business. Liz loved traveling and horse races and attended the Kentucky Derby several times.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Betty Evans and husband, Jim, of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Bo Evans, of Lubbock, Candy Lindeman Hoyle and husband, John, of Wolfforth, and Kim Mauldin and husband, Steve, of Canadian, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Jason Lindeman and wife, Heather, of Allen, Texas, Jimmy Evans Hill and wife Kai, of Lubbock, Matt Maudlin and Kristin Mauldin, of Canadian, both currently attending Texas Tech.
