JoAnn was born August 8, 1942, in Denver Colorado to Emmett Westfall and Eva Elizabeth
Wyatt. She was the second youngest out of seven children. JoAnn attended school in the Denver
area, later graduating from Northeast Junior College in Sterling CO with a degree in nursing.
Joann met and married her soulmate Dale Lee Garrett July 28th, 1967. To this Union 5 children were
born and three were adopted. Son Frank and wife Peggy Garrett, Son Scott and wife Ardis
Garrett, daughter Crystal and husband Lyle Worley, son Perry and wife Tamara Garrett,
daughter Shirlee and husband Darrell Patten, son Levi Garrett, son Luke and wife Megan Garrett,
and son Perry Jr. Garrett.
JoAnn had a true passion of caring for the elderly which led her to
serving 25 years working at an Alzheimer's unit in the Front Range as a Director of the Unit.
JoAnn's hobbies included fishing, camping, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, children, Frank, Scott, Crystal, Perry, Shirlee, Levi, Luke, and
Perry Jr. mother in-law, Mary Garrett, brother in-law, Terry (Barb) Garrett, two sister in-laws,
Janet (Larry) Pickett, and Sherry (Willie) Jones, 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and
many nieces and nephews.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Emmett and Eva Wyatt, brothers Doyle and Richard
Wyatt, sisters Mary Swerangin, Bonnie Lopez, Shirley Osburn, and Nancy Ruffer, nephews Leo
Wyatt, Emmett Wyatt, and Aaron Ruffer, niece little Eva Wyatt, sister-in-law Juanita Pickett.
Services for JoAnn will be held Saturday June 18th, 2016, at the Julesburg Christian Church in
Julesburg Colorado. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Alan Harris officiating.
