ZANESVILLE -- Kathleen "Kate" Gibbons, 61, of Zanesville, died at 6:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Select Specialty Care.
She was born July 4, 1946, in Zanesville. She lived all of her life in Muskingum County, and many years in White Cottage. She formerly worked at Essex Wire and volunteered at Salvation Army where she rang bells for 11 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Kim (Roger) Kirkbride of Zanesville, Kelly (Mike) Smith of Zanesville and Christine Powell of Zanesville; six grandsons; and one sister, Ruth Ann Sterling of Zanesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ruth Newton Sterling; her husband, Jacob Gibbons; and one granddaughter, Marie White.
Calling hours will begin at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Drive, White Cottage. The Rev. Robert Filkins will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery at Sonora.
