Singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actress. Born as Ferren Lee, she sometimes used the name Ferren Lee-Kelly. Her career began in Hong Kong and then expanded to Taiwan. Her single, "Do You Want My Love", also entered the U.S. music charts. In 1999 she debuted her first English-language album titled "Just No Other Way". She was a pop star in Asia, first finding success in the Mandopop music scene before she began recording Cantonese and English language music. CoCo performed the Best Original Song nomination "A Love Before Time" from the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at the 73rd Academy Awards, becoming the first Chinese American to perform at the Oscars. The pop diva continued to make waves in the US and was invited to sing the National Anthem on November 2, 2002, at a Houston Rockets basketball game and became the first Chinese singer to perform the national anthem at a major sporting event which was notable because it was Yao Ming's NBA debut. She was also known for her work in films such as "Runaway Bride" (1999), "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000), and "Rush Hour 2" (2001). She portrayed the voice of the protagonist Mulan in the Mandarin language version of the animated Disney Film "Mulan." She also performed the movie's theme song, "Reflection." 2023 marked the 30th anniversary of her singing career.
