Murder Victim. Huáng Nà (黄娜) was a 6-year-old Singaporean girl who went missing on October 10, 2004. She was last seen at the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, where she had gone with her father and younger brother. Despite an extensive search and investigation, her remains were found in a drain pipe in the garden on October 16, 2004. The suspect in Huang Na's murder was a 24-year-old Chinese national named Took Leng How, who worked as a cleaner at the research facility where Huang Na was a student. He was arrested and charged with the murder, and was subsequently found guilty and sentenced to death in 2006, but his sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment. The case shocked the country and remains one of the most high-profile child murders in Singapore's history.
