Mrs. Willette Worthy Whitaker died on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 10, at Genesis Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Mrs. Whitaker was a graduate of Dudley Senior High School. She served on the missionary ministry at Genesis Baptist Church and was one of the Golden Gems. She was the Chaplin of American Legion-Unit #267. She also participated in the National Alliance of Postal and Federal Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans.
Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, William Whitaker, and her son, Frederick Worthy.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Pamela Williams, and her daughter-in-law, Celestine Worthy.
