Major League Baseball Player. For seven-seasons (1965 to 1971), he was an outfielder with the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, Seattle Pilots/Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals. Born Hilario Valdespino, he was signed as an amateur free agent by the Washington Senators in 1957. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1965 and produced a career-high 108 games-played and 64 hits with 22 runs-driven-in. He experienced a pennant-wining season that year (1965) with Minnesota and played-in 5 games, recording 3 hits during the 1965 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1969, he had the distinction of being a member of the Seattle Pilots during their inaugural season. In 383 career regular season games, he compiled 176 hits, with a .230 batting average. After retiring as a player, he served as a Minor League coach and manager with the New York Yankees' and Baltimore Orioles' organizations.
