Singer. He was known as "El Rey el Estilo." Born Olimpo León Cárdenas Moreira to Manuel Cárdenas and Rosario Moreira in Vinces. After his parents' death, he was raised by his godmother and discovered music at a young age. At the age of 10, he began his singing career performing in radio programs and signing a music contract with Ifesa. He became one of the most famous male Ecuadorian singers in 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He recorded hits such as "Fatalidad," "Calabozo de Mis Penas," "Tu Duda y La Mía," "Lágrimas de Amor," "Temeridad" and "El Provinciano." He recorded duets with famous Ecuadorian singers such as Carlos Rubira Infante, Julio Jaramillo, Pepe Jaramillo, and Lucho Bowen. In 1970, he moved to Colombia to reside with his family and continue his music career, recording music and performing concerts outside his homeland. In addition to his singing career, he made a guest appearance in "Ajuste de Cuentas" (1983). He continued his music career until his death.
