Hugh Allen was the son of James Allen & Sarah (Boyd) Allen. Hugh Allen married Elizabeth Weir on November 14, 1850 in Coshocton, Coshocton Co., Ohio.

Note: In Caldwell's Atlas of Harrison Co. 1875,Hugh is listed as a farmer, grain and stock raiser and wool grower. His post office address is Cadwallader which was later renamed Westchester.

According to the church records he became a member of the Freeport Presbyterian Church August 28,1868.

At this death he left bond for upkeep of the Kerr-Boyd Cemetery.

Note: Looking at the 1910 census for New Philadelphia Ward 3, Tuscarawas, Ohio. Hugh Allen was married to a Margeret ? about 1904. It says it was his second marriage and her first marriage.
