Henry Cavaness
Henry Cavaness of Austin, Texas passed away Sunday, December 27, 1953. He was in his eighties and had been almost blind and very feeble the last three years. He lived in Licking over 40 years ago, but went to Texas as a young man and there he married Miss Cora Hamby and had lived there ever since. Mr. Cavaness was employed by the school and retired after 35 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Cora, a brother, Frank, of Sullivan, and several cousins; among those are Mrs. Emery Green of Cobden, Illinois. He was also a cousin of the late Belle Cavaness. A few "old" friends, one of whom is Will Jones of Licking, as they were "boys together."
He was laid to rest in a cemetery in Austin, Texas.

Note: Henry Cavaness was the son of Edwin Henry Cavaness and Virginia "Ellen" (Cavaness) Cavaness of Licking, MO. The father Edwin Henry Cavaness was an orphan boy raised by the John Wesley Craven, Jr. family of Licking, MO. Edwin Henry Cavaness and wife Virginia "Ellen" were not blood related. Although, Virginia Ellen's maiden name was Cavaness.
