Jane was born in Magoffin County, Kentucky the daughter of Jane Risner the daughter of Conway Risner and Elaine Wadkins and the granddaughter of Archibald Risner and Nancy J.Howard. On March 14, 1901 she married Francis Marion Jenkins the son of William M. "Billy" Jenkins and Sarah Montgomery and the grandson of Robert Jenkins and Francis "Fanny" Williams. She was age 14 and he was age 48 at the time of their marriage. Jane was a midwife in Portsmouth, Ohio for many years. Francis Marion and Jane's children are; William Elza Jenkins, Winford Jenkins-live less than two years, Gilda Jenkins-died young, and Delbert Jenkins.
