"Fatally poisoned by drinking gasoline which his mother had been using for cleaning clothes, Richard Grossi, 18 months old, son of Ernest Grossi, employed as a driver of a local baking company, died on Monday evening at the family home, 123 Union Street. The baby drank the gasoline on Saturday, and although immediately placed under the care of a physician, all efforts to save his life were futile.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning from the chapel of Keaton & Dusel. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The case was not investigated by Coroner J. Ray Keaton, as there was no question that the death of the child was entirely accidental."
