Our distant cousin. John Rumple was the son of Jacob Rumple and Mary Sheller, and grandson of Johan Conrad Rumple and Catherine Simons.
John married Nancy Catherine Fiser. They had 11 children that we know of: Mary E Rumple, John Wesley Rumple, Margaret Susan Rumple Rosenberger, Malinda Rumple Rosenberger, Sarah Esther Rumple Rosenberger, James Sylvester Rumple, Lucy Rumple Rosenberger, William Henry Rumple, Nancy Ellen Rumple Orrin, Emma Alwilda Rumple Doran & Charles Ellsworth Rumple.
Like a good number of Rumple, Rumpel, Rumbell & Rumble families throughout the U.S., John is a descendant of Johannes Rumpel, who settled in Heidelbrg, PA & served in the Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution, and his wife Anna Catharina (surname unknown-may have been Kurtz).
Most of the family were farmers.
