Ora Dawn Thurman, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 5, 2022, at her home. 


Dawn was born December 4, 1936, in Lyman, Idaho, to John Wayne McIntier and Rhoda Louise Hall McIntier. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.  

On February 4, 1955, she married Kay S. Thurman in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dawn and Kay made their home in Idaho Falls where Dawn worked in quality control for Basic American.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed painting, woodwork, crocheting, and her pets.


Dawn is survived by her son, Gary Kay (Bernadine) Thurman of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dennis Ray McIntier of Leads, UT; 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kay S. Thurman; brother, Daren Lane McIntier; and her parents, John and Rhoda McIntier.


Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 S. Yellowstone in Idaho Falls. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls.
