HERTZMAN.--Blanche Mumford Hetzman was born in Moscow, Michigan, April 20, 1872, and died January 13, 1905, at the age of 32 years, 8 months and 23 days. With her parents she moved to Emerson, Gratiot County, Michigan, in 1889. She was married to Frank M. Hetzman November 30, 1893. At the age of sixteen years she was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Moscow Plains, Hillsdale County, Michigan. She led a constant and consistent Christian life. After her marriage she became affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church of Lafayette and Emerson, of which her husband was a member. After a time both decided it would be better to work with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Beebe because it was nearer their home. They held membership there until they moved to Eaton Rapids in 1902. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Eaton Rapids. She always took an active part in religious work, particularly in Sunday School, Epworth League and Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She also had an active interest in educational advancement, especially in the Grange and Farmer's Club. Of a loving, sympathetic and helpful nature, she made a host of warm friends, who by kind words and acts of sympathy united in making her last days blessed. She died with a strong and constant faith in her Saviour, and a bright hope of the glory of her future home. The sermon was delivered by Rev. N. W. Weston. Interment was in the Old Beebe Cemetery.
