Ulus Duncan, 65, of Rt. 1, Pioneer, passed away Thursday morning, April 9, at the Scott County Hospital. He was the son of the late Wiley Duncan and the late Arminda Sexton Duncan and was also preceded in death by two sisters: Priscilla Phillips and Lodena Cook; and two brothers: Howard and Elbie Duncan. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was also a veteran of World War II. Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Flonie Cross Duncan of Rt. 1, Pioneer; two daughters: Brenda Shoopman of Oneida, and Wilma Lou Crisp of Chatsworth, Ga.; five sons: Ray Duncan and Larry Duncan, both of Rt. 1, Oneida, Chester Duncan of Chatsworth, Ga., and Lester Duncan of Benton; two sisters: Emma Jane Harness of Rt. 1, Huntsville, and Ruth Alma Huckelby of Oneida; two brothers: Convie Duncan of Huntsville, and T. J. Duncan of Norma; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at the Antioch Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris Day and Rev. Fin Hatfield officiating. The Crowley Family sang. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Carlos Harness, Kenneth Harness, Benny Lawson, Gaither Lloyd, Cecil Marlow, and Charles D. Strunk. American Legion Post 136 of Oneida were in charge of full military honors at graveside. Those who participated were: Norman Acres, Milford Burchfield, James Collins, Lawrence Hill, Odie Posey, Roy D.
