Born Oct. 15, 1909, in Roanoke to James and Lillian "Lillie" Mitchell Laffins, she married George Stortz on June 12, 1933, in Ottawa. He died July 25, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Jack of Ottawa, Gary and Barry, both of Peoria; and seven grandchildren.
She and her husband owned and operated Taylor Street Market in Ottawa for more than 52 years.
She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star White Shrine, both in Ottawa.
Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.
