John Louis Walker, 89, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the V.A. Nursing Home in Jackson. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 1pm-2pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm after the visitation. Interment will be held in Lakewood Cemetery.

John Louis Walker went to Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi. Later he joined the Army Air Corp (United States Air Force) in 1942 and was a First Lieutenant bomber pilot. After his discharge from the military he (and his eldest son, John Buster Walker attended college at the same time) obtained his PharmD from Northeast Louisiana State University in Monroe, Louisiana. He retired as a pharmacist from the V.A. Medical System in Jackson, Ms.

Mr. Walker is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Louise (Moore) Walker (married August 7, 1942) and dedicated father to sons John Buster Walker (wife Beth) of Troy, North Carolina and Stephen Louis Walker (wife - Ann) of Burleson, Texas. Dedicated grandfather to David Ziccadri (Theresa) of New Orleans, La.; John Buster Walker, Jr. (wife - Tiffany) of Katy, Tx ; Patrick Walker (wife - Emily) of Chapel Hill, NC; Lora Diane Hild (husband - Paul) of Fredericksburg, Tx; and Stephanie June Walker of Flower Mound, Tx., three great grandchildren and brothers Tommy Walker (wife - Frances) and Calvin Walker (wife Rosa Lea) both of Jackson, Mississippi.
