Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. at her home near the Amherst Center House, occurred the death of a highly respected resident of Amherst - Mrs. Saloma Humbert, wife of Mr. Victor Humbert, aged eighty years. Mrs. Humbert, whose native state was Pennsylvania, came to Williamsville in 1832, when about 20 years of age, and was soon thereafter married, having faithfully performed the service of loving wife and mother for over half a century. She is survived by an aged husband and four children: Mrs. J. M. Rhoda of Buffalo; Mr. Christian Humbert of Getzville; Mrs. Edward Robert of Mt. Pleasant MI; Mrs. Frank Robert of Getzville; and an aged brother, Mr. Peter Sheesley of Harris Hill, who is scaring the century mark. The funeral was held this afternoon at two o'clock.
