Obituary

Hildred Bell Cammon passed away on January 9, 2022, at LaGrange
Hospice. She was 104.

Mrs. Cammon was born on September 18, 1917, in Heard County, Georgia,
to the late Mr. and Mrs. Cliff H. Bell. She was the oldest of four daughters.

Mrs. Cammon graduated from Martha Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She
and her husband Robert owned and operated Cammon's Seafood and Poultry in
LaGrange until their retirement in 1972. After their retirement, they owned
and operated a Chevron gas station on the corner of Broad and Greenwood Streets.
Mrs. Cammon then went on to attend West Georgia Technical School,
receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant degree.

Mrs. Cammon was an active member of LaGrange First United Methodist
Church, where she was a member of the Verdie Miller / Mary Wills Sunday School
Class and a volunteer driver with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of
LaGrange Woman's Club and was a Pink Lady volunteer at West Georgia
Medical Center.

Mrs. Cammon was an avid golfer and member of the Highland Country Club
Ladies Golf Association. In 2010, the association established a golf
scholarship in her name.

Mrs. Cammon is survived by her sister Barbara (Vernon) Dudley of Hiram,
Georgia; daughter Nancy Cammon of LaGrange; son Robert B. Cammon, Jr.
(Dorothy) of LaGrange; granddaughter Margaret Cammon Sanders (Tim); great
grandchildren Caroline and Ben Sanders of Thomasville, Georgia; and
nephew Eric (Anne) Bearden, grandniece Channing Bearden and grandnephew
Chase Bearden, all of Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Cammon was predeceased by Robert B. Cammon, Sr., her husband
of 51 years; grandson Clifford Robert Cammon; and sisters Grace Bell Hendricks
and Sarah Bell McDade.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made
to the Meals on Wheels program of LaGrange First United Methodist Church.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm
at the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange. Dr. John Beyers and The Reverend
Ben Wills will officiate.
