Stand-Up Comedian, Comedian, Actor, Television Host and Director. He was born into a Jewish family in Philadelphia. He worked as an entertainer for 45 years (1977 to 2022) and was famous for his role in the ABC sitcom "Full House" as Danny Tanner from 1987 until 1995, its Netflix sequel "Fuller House" that ran from 2016 until 2020, and as the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" from 1989 until 1997. During his career, he participated in over 50 film and television productions. In 1998, he directed his first feature film, "Dirty Work." He also directed the 1996 ABC television movie "For Hope." In 1998, he made a cameo appearance as a cocaine addict in the stoner comedy "Half Baked." He also appeared on Broadway in "The Drowsy Chaperone." He was a board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation. He attended Abington Senior High School in Abington Township, Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1975, and Temple University where he graduated with a BA in 1978. For his comedy album "That's What I'm Talkin' About," he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 2014.
